aww man, we talkin bout a youth rally
It didn't take this one incident to make him a "bad" guy, he's got plenty of history to do that. If he did have a family emergency, all he had to do was use his cell phone. I'm with Indian Dad here.
What makes him a "bad" guy? The fact that he comes out and scores 25 a game? Or is it that you, along with everyone else, thinks hes a thug?
I believe I already know the answer.
.....and if he's such a bad guy, why did they elect to get Iverson to come? Why not any other celebrity? Must not be that bad.
Why they asked him to come would be my question. He is a great basketball player though, so I guess that would be the reason.

You would be correct. You can't deny he has had his share of bad publicity.
He scores 25 a game on about 40-50 shots.
Not showing up for this doesn't make him a bad guy, just his general attitude, demeanor and admitted ties to gangs makes him a thug and bad guy.
